Pb-Zn mineralization in Middle Triassic basal dolomite of the Stubai-Brenner Mesozoic as stratiform layers with minor veins and impregnations. Ores consist mainly of galena, sphalerite, and pyrite, with minor chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and barite. Abundant secondary minerals in the oxidation zone. Diagenetic origin, later tectonized during the Alpine orogeny.
Elevated Mo contents along with Pb, Zn, and Ag in stream sediments indicate a broader mineralized system than historical workings suggest.
