Upper Devonian limestones and Ordovician porphyroid host rocks. Mineralization often appears as diffuse, cloud-like patterns, but banded iron textures also occur. Copper occurs occasionally with siderite in the Noric Nappe.
: Major siderite / iron carbonate mining district within the Noric Nappe zone, occasionally producing copper as well. Copper historically produced within the adjacent eastern Greywacke zone.
