Stratiform Pb-Zn mineralization in Upper Triassic Wetterstein limestone forming extensive stratabound ore bodies. Ores dominated by sphalerite and galena with minor sulphides, commonly associated with fluorite and calcite veins. The largest deposit (Lafatsch-Vomperloch) shows Bleiberg-type characteristics. Distinct cobalt-rich mineralization at Silberberg-Geyer was historically mined for blue pigments.
Multiple mineralization stages are evident, particularly in sphalerite. Historical documentation of lead-zinc extraction and cobalt mining for pigment production.
